Eligibility

Applicants must provide proof of sufficient income to pay present housing charges for the unit requested. Minimum and maximum housing sizes apply.

Applicants must show an interest in Co-operative living and the local community, and be willing to make the commitment to participate on an ongoing basis in the work involved in running the Co-op. Participation in some form is mandatory, as is attendance at any General Members' Meeting.

It is our intention that this be a long-term residence. Applicants wanting only short-term accommodation will not be considered for Membership.

Applicants must indicate respect for others’ privacy and property, as well as Co-op property.

Applicants must be willing to maintain the unit.

Members, once given a unit, are required to sign the Occupancy By-Law and abide by all the by-laws of the Co-op.

Caroline Co-op's waitlist is currently closed. When our waitlist re-opens, to apply for membership, download and complete the fillable pdf application. Complete and submit via coordinator@caroline-coop.com. You will be invited to participate in our next Open House, where you will learn more about our Co-op and be able to view a sample of actual units.

Applications must be accompanied by ALL the following:
• A non-refundable application fee per applicant (for everyone over the age of 16)
• A completed and signed application form along with all required documents and income verification
• Landlord reference (part of the application form)

All applicants of the household are required to attend an interview with our Membership Selection Committee. Recommendations are sent to the Board for final approval. You will be notified of the results. Upon acceptance for Membership in the Co-op, you will be placed on a waiting list for a unit.

PLEASE NOTE: Completed applications are held in order of date received and incomplete forms will be returned for completion, which will delay the rest of the process.
Once you become a Member, and are offered a unit, a one-time membership fee per adult Member, as well as first and last months' housing charge, and a maintenance deposit become due and payable.
